Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) on Redistricting

Role: Advisory Committee to the Superintendent and the Board of Education

Tasks:

1. Analyze the School District Boundary Data

2. Provide recommendations for boundary revisions and adjustments that will benefit the entire district

Ground Rules for Group Discussion

- No profanity

- No yelling

- No sidebar discussions

- No over talk - wait

- Limit amount of time each person speaks on a topic (3 min. max.)

- Group majority votes to extend length of meeting

Decision-Making Process: Consensus using Four Gradients of Agreement:

Level 1: Endorsement (enthusiastic support)

Level 2: Endorsement with a Minor Point of Contention (lukewarm support)

Level 3: Agreement with Reservations (ambiguous support)

Level 4: Formal Disagreement but Willing to Go with Majority (meager support)

(and have disagreement noted in writing)

Note: A tally of each level of agreement will be taken for each recommendation proposed and provided to the committee members and to the Superintendent.
