- Successful completion of a senior project and service learning **beginning with the class of 2006

California Community College System
Admission is granted to high school graduates. Any person who is not a high school graduate, but who is 18 years of age or older, may be admitted on probation. Students who plan to transfer to a four-year college are urged to take a college preparatory program in high school.

California State University System/University of California System
Note: Admitted students usually rank in the upper third of high school graduates in California. Admission is based upon GPA in grades 10-12 and scores on an entrance examination (SAT or ACT). Marks lower than "C" are not accepted.

UC Scholarship Requirement
A 3.3 GPA in required courses indicates elgibility for admission. Eligibility does not always assure admission to the UC campus of your choice. Students with lower GPA's may be admitted with adequate admission scores. Marks lower than "C" are generally not accepted. UC applicants should rank with the top 12% of California high school graduates.

UC Examination Requirements
SAT 1 or ACT plus SAT11 Tests in English, Math, and one other subject.
A student must complete at least 150 credits from the following, which must be college preparatory [P]:

UC/CSU Systems Admission Path at PVHS
The University of California system is a rigorous college preparation designed to select the top 12% of high school students and requires that a student a graduate with GPAof 3.3 or higher. The California State University system demands the same college preparation program but will accept students with a GPA of 2.5 of higher. Although there are several variations, an example of a successful college preparation program might resemble the following:
