Promote a safe and healthy learning environment- It is the top priority of our staff to provide a safe and healthy learning environment for our students. Towards this end, and incidents of violence; intimidation; drug or alcohol possession. distribution or intoxication; and sexual harassment will NOT be tolerated. Students exhibiting these negative behaviors will receive a consequence. It is of paramount importance that these behaviors be addressed to ensure a safe, supportive learning environment. Student growth academically and socially is our mission.
All De Anza High School staff is expected to model respect. The expectation is that respect is reciprocal. Disrespect of staff or students will NOT be tolerated.
Lanyards and ID cards - All students are required to wear school issued identification badges and lanyards around their necks at all times while on campus. Students are responsible for replacing their ID cards if they are lost or damaged. Students without ID cards may be subject to discipline or sent home until it is replaced.
Headgear and Hats- Headgear may not be on campus. This includes but is not limited to baseball caps, hoods, skull caps, scarves, and bandanas. (Headgear worn for religious reasons is acceptable). Any of these items on campus will be confiscated and must be picked up by a parent or guardian. Parents and guardians can only pick up confiscated headgear on Monday afterschool from 3:00-4:00pm. Students with three or more incidents are exempt and their items may not be returned until the end of the year. Headgear with school insignia can be worn outside on school grounds.
and Cell Phones – De Anza Senior High School strives to foster an
academic environment that embraces the needs of 21st century
learners. This includes the rapidly evolving
functions of mobile devices and web based technology.
De Anza High School Students may use their personal
electronic devices during lunch, passing periods and before and after
school. De Anza High School staff
requires students to use the internet and technological resources in an
appropriate manner that abides by all legal, district and school guidelines.
Students may be allowed to utilize electronic devices in
class with teacher permission; the purpose of such use is intended to promote
research, innovation, curriculum and instructional resource access as well
communication with others for educational purposes.
Any student that
violates school or classroom technology policies may have their electronic
device confiscated and the electronic device must be picked up by a parent or
guardian. Parents and guardians can only
pick up confiscated electronic devices on Mondays from 3:00 – 4:00 pm.

School is not responsible for lost/stolen hats or electronic devices, including
but not limited to cell phones, I-pods, and headphones.
Closed Campus- De Anza High School is a closed campus. Students caught off campus or in any unauthorized areas of campus without permission are subject to discipline. This includes but is not limited to the hallway, PE area, sports fields, student and staff parking lots, front of the school, construction site, and any area outside of school grounds. Our goal is to keep students in the classroom for the entire instructional period.
No Exit Policy - In an effort to keep our students safe in the classroom and protect instructional minutes, Students will not be allowed to leave the classroom during class time. Statistics show that uninterrupted class time will benefit students on test and dramatically improve their overall grades. This will also keep our hallways clear of traffic and improve the overall safety of our school. Students will have to get their books out of their lockers and use the restroom before and after school or between classes. There will also be regular tardy sweeps to ensure students are getting to class on time. Please talk with your student about the directive and about the importance of following rules.
