About our district
Located on the San Francisco Bay, the West Contra Costa Unified School District serves more than 34,000 students from kindergarten through grade 12 as well as adult learners. We serve the cities of Richmond, Hercules, Pinole, El Cerrito,and San Pablo and unincorporated areas of Contra Costa County, including El Sobrante, Kensington, Montalvin, North Richmond, and Tara Hills. We are the 20th largest local education agency in California. More than 80 languages are spoken within our 110 square mile jurisdiction. Mission, Values, and Priorities We provide the highest quality education to enable all students to make positive life choices, strengthen our community, and successfully participate in a diverse and global society.
