English

The English classes at North Campus High School emphasize literacy in the broad sense.  Beyond focusing on grammar, vocabulary, essential writing skills and textbook reading comprehension, our English classes encourage students to read the word and their world.  Students are actively engaged in writing projects that incorporate application of the arts to the writing process.  They learn such life skills English as resume writing, cover letter composition, career-oriented literacy skills and computer word processing.  More importantly, students are provided a sound humanities-based education that focuses on reading and interpretation of the novel, poetry, film and the short story.
